Suhoor is the pre-dawn meal that Muslims are encouraged to eat, before beginning the fast in Ramadan.
Suhoor is a breakfast meal that is eaten before Fajar time. It is intended for muslims to eat, to avoid becoming tired/cranky/lazy during the day, due to lack of food being eaten whilst fasting.
There are many Sahih Hadith (authentic narrations), pointing out the importance of Suhoor, which makes it a Sunnah Practice.
Abdullah ibn al-Harith reported: A man among the companions entered upon the Prophet while he was eating the pre-fasting meal. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Verily, it is a blessing that Allah has given you, so do not abandon it.”
